Directing
Everybody

I had the privilege of returning to my High School Alma Mater multiple times to Lighting Design, and was graciously given the opportunity to direct a show! I chose Everybody by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins to produce because I love this script and playwright, students and audience members can gain multitudes of perspective from the material, and it gives many opportunities to learn about different styles and time periods in theatre.
Director's Note
The question of the meaning of life constantly looms in the back of all our minds. This play depicts the reality of life, the life-altering experiences that we all share, the ones that play out like a game of Bingo where everything is left up to fate: where you were born, how you grew up, and what kinds of relationships you build. In dramatically different ways, we all experience the same things, and we all share the same fate; this connects us all. We all have a path in this life. The circle of life is not always smooth. It’s complex; it has layers, but we all share this Earth and go through things that shape who we are. Whether self-preservation in the afterlife or genuinely caring about connecting with others in this life is your motivation, we are lucky that we are given the choice to be kind to one another. We all make mistakes, but we never truly know what consequences they may have until it is too late. Therefore, it is always important to be kind, understanding, and forgiving. We are lucky that all our paths are crossing at this moment to share a story, a journey, that teaches us the importance of truly caring for one another and empathizing with the impactful events that happen to everyone around us.
I'm ordained!
I've ordained a couple weddings now for people who are very close to me and I hope to do more in the future. It's a beautiful honor to be an integral part to such special marriages.
